How the countdown works
The count runs midnight to midnight in whole calendar days: today itself is day zero, and the target date is the last day counted. That is the everyday convention, so on 24 December the calculator shows 1 day until Christmas. Because it works on calendar dates rather than clock time, the result is the same all day and in every time zone, and the hours figure is just the day count multiplied by 24.
Day counts are useful whenever a date matters more than a duration: submission deadlines, exam dates, contract end dates, weddings, product launches, or a retirement date. If you pick a date that has already passed, the calculator still works and tells you how many days ago it was. Is today included in the count?
No. The count runs midnight to midnight, so today is day zero and the target date is the final day counted. That matches everyday speech: on 24 December there is 1 day until Christmas, not 2. If you want today included, add one.
How are the hours counted?
The hours figure is the whole number of days multiplied by 24. It is not measured from the current clock time, so it does not tick down during the day, and it is independent of your time zone.
Can I count only working days?
